Our Story
1. We think a good leader is someone that is responsible, respectful, themselves, understanding, strict, and caring.
2. Quentin-Ever since I was young I've wanted to learn about my culture. Although it was hard because my dad was white and my mom new little. My whole life I've done what I can to learn my culture, so in a way I've been a leader to myself. Now i drum and sing, I can smudge, and know some history from my culture, though I am still learning.
Lincoln- I was born and lived in Burns Lake for the first 10 years of my life. There my grandfather taught me to be strong do my work and try my best. My family on the reserve taught me respect, and some traditions and protocol of my Peaple. My parentrs have taught me to be a good kid, make all the right desicions, and be myself. After we moved to Westbank I lost all my leaders except my parents. I learned to make my own desicions, and be an individual.
3. Our understanding of leadership compares to what we've learned in class because we have both in our own way matered Belonging and Mastery. With me (Quentin) I mastered belonging and mastery with singing, because I have learned the songs and a could teach them. Lincoln leaned to be a strong individual and make good desicions, and be strong.
